TECHNICAL DEFINITION

CE 78 JOINT FILLER is a powder filler designed specifically for jointing tapered edge plasterboard in combination with a joint tape.

 

COMPOSITION AND APPEARANCE

Powder filler based on plaster, calcium carbonate, resin and various additives. 

The paste obtained is white.

 

SUITABLE SURFACES

All types of plasterboard with or without insulation (glass wool, rock wool, polystyrene) with tapered edges and paper face.

TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS

• Setting time : 1/2, 1 or 2 hours

• Strip adhesion : > 1,000 g

• Cracking : no cracking up to 5 mm thickness

• Density : 0.9

• A1 class reaction to fire

STORAGE

9 months in original unopened package, protected from damp.

 

APPLICATION

Before jointing fill gaps between boards and any irregular joints and repair any damaged board. 

Apply manually by using a 10 or 15 cm filling knife and apply the tape – milled face against the board.

Then apply a finish coat, allow to dry and finish to cover the tape. 

Also cover screw heads. 

Apply a tape into the ceiling joins and ensure that the concrete is free of any signs of mould-release oil. 

For vertical protruding angles use a reinforced tape (metal side against the board) or a metal angle bead.

 

AMOUNT REQUIRED

Approximately 350 g/m² of plasterboard.

 

DRYING TIME

Second coat may be applied 4 hours after application of the first coat.

 

RECOMMENDED APPLICATION

To prevent furring do not sand the paper face of the board before applying the primer.
